Melbourne-based artist Tracie Mitchell created Twirling Sheila Productions in 1996 to explore dance on film.
Under the umbrella of Twirling Sheila Productions, Tracie Mitchell creates multi media works for live theatre and film. She is one of a few Australian artists who combine the roles of choreographer, film director, editor, producer and distributor. Her fusion of these skills has resulted in unique work that is celebrated nationally and internationally. She collaborates with dancers, designers and cinematographers to bring her vision of dance to the screen.
Tracie also curates public exhibitions of Dance on Screen. In 1999 she directed Dance Lumiere, the first three day international dance film festival in Australia, produced through Dancehouse in Melbourne.
